Services to compliment SEO
Modern day SEO services are robust and require a concert of services and techniques working together for your business to see quality and long-lasting results.
Inbound marketing focuses on attracting customers by being helpful, through content and interactions – rather interrupting the potential customer with an ad. With inbound marketing, potential customers find you through channels like blogs, search engines, and social media.
Content marketing focuses on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience — with the ultimate goal to convince the customer to make a profitable action.
Social Media Management
Social media is a big part of a successful marketing campaign. Social media is all about building trust and community with your customers, not constantly pitching your products and services.
Email is still the most effective and highest converting marketing strategy around. Building a targeted email sign-up list is key to a business’s website success.
Marketing automation involves creating email marketing and lead nurturing tailored to the lifecycle stage of each lead. If a website visitor has downloaded your “top tips” checklist .pdf in the past, you would send that lead a series of “drip” style related emails. But, if they like you on Facebook and have visited certain pages on your website, you might want to change the messaging to fit their different interests.
Conversion rate optimization (CRO) is a system of strategies for increasing the percentage of visitors to your website who convert into customers – or more accurately, take an action on your website that you want them to take, such as: follow on Twitter, join email list, like on Facebook, fill out a contact form and more.
What is Search Engine Optimization?
SEO is the combination art and science of businesses and websites being found though search results by potential customers and clients for the products and services they sell.
When a potential customer searches for your products or services on Google (or other search engines – but let’s talk about Goggle and it’s 80% share of searches), it’s important they can find all the goodness, products, services and expertise your business and website has to offer.
I refer to SEO as an art because Google does not explicitly tell business owners which SEO strategies they need to implement to outrank their competition int he search results – and they have more than 10,000 ranking signals!
In the olden days of SEO, a website owner could just stuff a bunch of keywords for the services and products they offered and voila – #1 on Google. Then, it became all about back-links from outside websites. A website that had a ton of back-links could easily hit #1 in the Google search results.
The days of spammy SEO services and lazy SEO practices are far behind us.
SEO has greatly evolved along with the evolution of Google. No longer are customers confined to their desktop computer. 60% of all searches come from a mobile device and Google knows what we – the searchers – want. We don’t want a pizza shop all the way on the other side of town. We want a restaurant that can deliver pizza quickly to our front door. Google’s goal is to give the searcher exactly what they’re looking for as quickly as possible. Google is very smart. The Google search results algorithm uses “context clues” on steroids (or latent semantic indexing if you’re nerdy) to determine exactly what the searcher needs, as well as to determine exactly what the content on a webpage means.
No longer can a website simply stuff keywords into their webpages and go get a bunch of low-quality link-backs. Today’s SEO requires greater strategy, effort and higher quality website content. Today’s SEO services require a combination of technical SEO, on-page SEO, offsite SEO and local SEO along with additional digital marketing strategies like content marketing, social media marketing, inbound marketing and email marketing.
Successful SEO strategies take dedication from the small business owner, working alongside their SEO consultant.
Is SEO right for my business?
Search engine optimization is not a quick-fix digital marketing strategy, SEO takes time. We ask for a six month commitment from our small business SEO clients because SEO is a long-term marketing strategy. A solid SEO strategy takes time to see big results, but results from SEO strategies are much stronger and longer-lasting than every other digital marketing strategy combined.
When you’re shopping for a SEO company to create and manage your SEO services, run fast in the opposite direction if any SEO company guarantees 1st page Google search results. Guaranteeing 1st page results is a clear sign that this SEO company practices unethical black hat SEO techniques. Your website may see instant search ranking results, but it won’t be long before Goolge catches you and your website will be heavily penalized – many times resulting in your business’s website being completely removed from the Google search results.
No matter how good your SEO consultant may be, you – the business owner – must put in just as much work into creating and implementing a successful SEO strategy for the long-term well-being of your website and small business.
If you’re a business owner who can be dedicated in marketing your business and your business and website is in it for the long-haul, SEO should be your top digital marketing strategy to grow your business online now and into the future.
SEO Services Packages
There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all SEO service package with a simple check-list of services to be provided each month.
Search Centered develops SEO strategies and small business SEO packages for each client on a business-by-business basis. A huge part of a quality SEO plan is the ability to experiment, test, modify and improve the SEO strategy on the fly to create best fit strategies for each individual small business.
Of course, there are basic SEO strategies that must be implemented with every single small business SEO package. Every SEO service starts with a website audit of your current website and web presence to discover problems and opportunities. Search engine competition analysis is the next part of the process, followed by keyword research. After initial SEO research tasks are completed, we move into the process of creating your small business’s individualized SEO strategy, using a combination of SEO methods based on your monthly SEO budget – NAP (name, address, phone number) citations, on-page search engine optimization, off-site SEO, technical search engine optimization, content strategy, social media management, inbound marketing, email marketing, are all important strategies in modern-day SEO.
Once we’ve created an initial SEO strategy for your business, we will readdress the strategy regularly – always working on improving the SEO strategies to best benefit your business.
When shopping around, be weary of SEO companies who list simply check-list service packages on their website. There are some services that should be included in every SEO package, but many times a check-list service package uses strategies that don’t actually require any real work – or actual strategy.
How long does SEO take to “work”?
Search engine optimization is not a “quick fix” marketing plan. A quality SEO strategy does take time to take effect.
At Search Centered, we ask for a 6 month SEO service plan commitment from our clients. We ask for this commitment for multiple reasons: SEO requires a lot of front-loaded work, ethical SEO takes time to see results because your website must build trust with Google, many times previous SEO strategies used by a business actually did more damage than good and need more time and effort to repair.
It’s impossible to say exactly how long it will take for each individual business to see results. That said, many times small businesses are likely to see results very quickly. When a small business has not implemented any SEO strategies – or poor SEO techniques – in the past, it is likely that many of the basic SEO strategies will result in immediate “small wins” for the business website’s search ranking results and website traffic.
Other times, a business may be starting from a deep hole – and it may take more than a year to start seeing solid results from a SEO strategy.
When you’re researching the right SEO consultant for your business, be apprehensive when a SEO company guarantees quick ranking results or guarantees 1st page Google search results rankings for highly competitive keywords in your industry.
When you’re starting a new SEO service for your business, a website and online presence audit is the first step. If your website’s SEO audit finds that any black hat, unethical, SEO techniques have been performed in the past – resulting in penalties for the website, driving it down in search results.
Ultimately, the answer is – it depends. Depending on your SEO service budget and the SEO health of your business website when entering a SEO service plan, your business could see immediate results, or it could take time. Of course, the bigger your SEO service budget, the more time a SEO consultant can dedicate to your project.
How much does SEO cost?
At Search Centered we give 100% transparent pricing. All services we offer are billed at $125 per hour. We work with small businesses (and larger) who are eager to commit a minimum of $1000 per month to their SEO strategy for at least a six month period – or commit the same amount to a combination of digital marketing services.
When it comes to SEO consultants, you will discover a wide variety of rates and prices for SEO services. SEO pricing ranges greatly for many reasons, including: experience, expertise, the SEO firm’s team size, the SEO agency’s overhead and many other factors.
Search Centered has been creating small business SEO strategies for nearly a decade, with a strong focus on content strategies for SEO and local SEO for small businesses whose customers are located near their stores and shops.
We bill in 15 minute increments, and we do not double-bill our clients for team meetings – many agencies charge per hour, per person who sits in on a SEO strategy meeting.
